Book 1 of the Perth Chronicles

A Trilogy Set Amidst Magic and Intrigue

“40 Years of World-building culminates in one of the best new fantasy works we have seen. Original and thoroughly wicked in both scope and subject matter. A must-read.”

"This book is not your typical fantasy. Yes, there's magic and epic battles and sword and sorcery, but it's got this wicked sense of humor and brutal realism that caught me completely off guard. One minute you're in a tense moment of intrigue, the next minute livestock are exploding, and you're laughing at the sheer audacity of it all. The world of Thang feels lived in and real despite all the magic, like the author spent decades building every corner of it, which apparently he did. Dingus is a great protagonist, starting as a young alchemist and growing into something so much bigger as the story unfolds. The character development is solid, and the plot keeps twisting in ways you don't see coming. Fair warning, though, this book doesn't shy away from dark content; there's violence, cannibalism, and moments that are genuinely disturbing, but it all serves the story. If you're tired of safe, predictable fantasy and want something with real edge, humor, and heart, grab this. It's the first in a trilogy, and I'm already hooked."

"I picked up this book as I wanted to try something a little different from what I usually read, and I'm glad I did! The world-building and characters were interesting throughout, and the plot and storyline kept you engaged as the reader. This was a great start to the series, and I'm looking forward to reading more! Thumbs up from me!"

"This is a mix of sharp humor and real stakes woven into a world that never takes itself too seriously, even when the danger kicks up. The story moves with energy, letting the chaos, politics, and magic push the characters into decisions that actually shape who they become. I like how the narrative leans into tension without losing its playful edge, giving the quest a balance of grit and wit. This is for someone who enjoys fantasy that blends unpredictable turns, bold world-building, and a cast that grows more interesting the deeper you go. This one delivers with plenty left to uncover."
